Our Services

Working in a 64-bed advanced facility that includes 7 cardiac catheterization labs, 4 electrophysiology labs, 3 operating suites, and 1 endovascular suite, our clinical teams perform a wide range of short-stay, minimally invasive procedures. Our services include:

  • Electrophysiology and Pacemaker Labs
    The electrophysiologists on the medical staff at Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital are considered leaders and pioneers in the fastest growing field in cardiology. Our team is dedicated to providing quality treatments for complex rhythm disorders and management. Areas of expertise include atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmia ablations, and cardiac resynchronization therapy. We reinvest in innovative modalities such as magnetic navigation and 3-dimensional cardiac mapping to optimize clinical outcomes for our patients.
  • Non-Invasive Cardiology
    Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital features a non-invasive imaging department that renders services for both Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital and Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. Cardiology services include transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, pharmacological and exercise stress tests, and nuclear cardiology. Vascular services include arterial and venous vascular imaging and doppler studies, segmental pressures, and ankle-brachial index.
  • Vascular Surgery
    The vascular surgeons on our medical staff provide diagnostic evaluation and surgical treatment of venous and arterial peripheral vascular diseases. Surgeons on the medical staff at Baylor have been leaders in the region in the development of endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
  • Interventional Cardiology
    Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital features one of the largest interventional cardiology department in the North Texas region and is staffed with specialists in the management of patients needing emergent cardiac intervention, such as those with unstable angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock.

Emergent Patient Transfer Center

For patients presenting with acute aortic dissections and other thoracic aortic emergencies, call our Patient Transfer Center at 214.820.6444 from anywhere across the DFW Metroplex and beyond. The team of surgeons on our medical staff, along with our nursing staff will go into immediate action to transport the patient to either of our two Baylor Scott & White Health facilities that have the expertise and advanced technology to get the patient the surgical intervention needed:

  • Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas
  • The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano

Fast and efficient action and high-level, critical medical expertise are paramount
for these acute aortic cases:

  • Acute Type A and B Dissections
  • Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms
  • Thoracoabdominal Aneurysms

Physician Liaison Program

The Physician Liaison Program at Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital (BHVH) establishes and promote positive relationships between BHVH physicians within the Baylor Scott & White Health System, the community, and staff. Our physician liaison, Brittany Rigacci, serves as a personal contact and resource for physicians and other healthcare providers to address questions, issues or concerns, and to provide education about services offered at BHVH.

Coordinating CME
The physician liaison will also coordinate continuing medical education (CME) programs by helping to identify CME needs and assist in the scheduling of CME events.

Patient-Focused Research

Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital participates in extensive patient-focused research. We have more than 80 ongoing studies that include new pacemaker and defibrillator technology, drug-eluting stents, hypertension and lipid medications, laser-assisted lead extraction, and catheter ablation for supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias. Outstanding Outcomes and Patient Satisfaction

Our approach has paid dividends in the areas of outcomes and patient satisfaction. We have achieved higher than national scores on our Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Core Measures on Heart Failure, Acute Myocardial Infarction and Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP). Additionally, 88 percent of patients gave our hospital the highest overall rating, and 96 percent of patients said that they would recommend Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital.
